Inside the main room of Amir and Emmanuelle Mortazavi’s Pacific Heights manse, Maison Martin Margiela and Dries Van Noten pieces hang above an origami folder chair from Stefan Schöning. Downstairs, there is a full range of new work by emerging Belgian artist Renato Nicolodi. It’s all for sale. The couple’s new by-appointment-only retail concept, Highlight, focuses on one country per year (hence 2011’s Belgian theme), turning their abode into an exotic gallery of finely curated tablewares, antiques, fine art and fashion inspired by their travels. Says Emmanuelle, “We wanted the experience to be personal.” 3043 Clay St., S.F., 415-529-1221; highlightstore.com. KELSEY McKINNON
